1st Step Care & Respite provides caregiving and respite services for the elderly, and people with disabilities who need assistance with their daily living needs. We also provide respite for caregivers that need time away. Located in Edmonton Alberta. I am Amanda, the owner and operator of 1st Steps to Care and Respite. I’ve started my own business because I know personally how frustrating it can be to be a caregiver, or person needing support, who has endless new faces coming and going. Being a BIPOC increases the level of care by having a cultural understanding and sensitivity that other caregivers cannot provide. As a caregiver to a youth with complex behaviours, I advocate for my clients who need subsidized care through CDHCI, PDD, and FSCD. 1st Steps Care & Respite is licensed as a foster home with the Government of Alberta. Additionally, we have the following credentials: – Security and vulnerable sector checks ensure your safety. – Medication Administration, lifts and transfers, complex behaviours. – Standard First Aid, Mental Heakth First Aid, Safe food handling, WHIMIS – Transportation insurance, general liability insurance, and fully bonded. |

What services do you offer?
We provide caregiving and respite services for the elderly and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the assistance they need in daily living activities.

What are your service hours?
Our services are available from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and we also offer weekend support and overnight in home respite based on availability and specific needs of our clients.
Do you provide services outside Edmonton?
We provide services in the Greater Edmonton Area, Alberta, but we are exploring options to expand our reach to nearby areas in the future.
